Jump! Ultimate Stars is a fighting video game in development by Ganbarion and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It is the sequel to the popular Nintendo DS title, Jump Super Stars. Current release date for Japan is set for Winter 2006. Like it's predecessor, it will be difficult to release in the US due to copyright issues. However, this is unlikely to prevent Western fans of both Jump manga and the original game importing it in their droves.
The release date is set for Winter 2006. Since Winter spans from December to Feburary and the release date is 2006, gamers can expect this game to be released in December 2006.
Title confirmed so far: Dragonball, One Piece, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Reborn, Kochikame, Gintama, Bleach, Eyeshield 21, D. Gray-man, Slam Dunk, Pyuu To Fuku! Jaguar, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Prince of Tennis, Hunter X Hunter, Shaman King, Black Cat, Naruto, Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, Ichigo 100%, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dr. Slump
The "Koma" system will still be used with the original 4-by-5 grid and touch screen. It seems this time, the player can use L and R button as hotkey to quickly call the characters into battle without the usage of touchpad. Also a leader system has been implemented. Furthermore, it appears characters can now cling on to ledges when falling adjacent to them. Exactly how this is performed is as of yet unknown, but it is likely a timed button press will be required to allow characters to grab onto the ledge as falling.
Wi-Fi is also implemented for this sequel, so players can expect world wide combat. More information will be released in September. So far at least 300 characters will be included in this title (versus 160 in Jump Super Stars). This sequel expects to have 40 titles involved versus 27 as the prequel.
