Family Farm Seaside, one of the top grossing mobile games developed and published by Beijing based videogame company FunPlus, is a farming game available for free on both iOS and Android platforms, and available in 18 languages.[1].

Starting with a small farm near the beach, players need to take care of their farms through planting and harvesting crops, feeding animals, constructings buildings and machines and use them to produce items to sell for Coins, one of the game currencies. The game has more than 300 items (crops, trees, machines, buildings, decorations) from which the players can choose from to progress in their game and decorate their farms.[5].

Game Currencies

There are several currencies that players can use to play in their farms. The most used ones are Coins and RC (Ranch Cash), that players can use to buy machines, decorations, livestock and buildings. In addition there are also Mystrons that can be used to upgrade machines, Boat Tickets to buy items to upgrade the Boat, an Order System to encourage players to help their neighbors; Activity Token, a special event that let players win special decorations; Wheel Token, to spin the special Wheel to win valuable items.

Players can play Family Farm Seaside on 2 modes, the main farm, near the beach, and the second farm, called the Island Farm. The Island Farm has several special features that are only accessible to players once they unlock the main island, called:

the Boat previously mentioned;

Family Farm Seaside has appeared on a number of countries' televisions commercial campaigns, to extend further its reach. The adverts have been released in Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada, and their localized versions can be found in the game official YouTube channel. The game was also featured on a video on YouTube made by Dutch YouTubers Alexander Spoor and Sacha Harland, where the two YouTubers let the public try pet food on the street by telling them first it is organic food and asking them feedback on what they just ate, and then telling the truth on the kind of food they just tried.[6].
