File:Passport to Destiny.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Bzuk (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

The screenshot is used in the plot section of Passport to Destiny against WP:FILMNFI in that the plot section describes the film and is not critical commentary of the image itself. The screenshot fails WP:NFCC#1 since the text "Inside Hitler's private office, Ella rehearses what she will say to him, but Dietrich is eavesdropping on the intercom." is sufficient to describe what is in the screenshot without the screenshot being present and fails WP:NFCC#8 because there is no critical commentary about the screenshot thereby doing nothing to increase the reader's understanding of the topic and its exclusion is not detrimental to the understanding of the topic. Nonsense, as usual in this "crusade", this is a baseless, opinionated complaint that does not recognize that the photograph provides a crucial element to understanding a pivotal plot development, which is evident in the newly revised caption. The actor is not just rehearsing a speech, she is steeling herself to assassinate Hitler, awkwardly wielding a pistol, something that the Nazis who are off-screen, cannot see. There is nothing baseless or opinionated about this discussion as can be seen by the arguments I made above. "Pivotal plot development"s happen in every movie and by this standard every film article would have at least one screenshot, but the opposite is true on Wikipedia, that few film articles have screenshots that pass WP:NFCC and none that would be used to describe a plot point used in the plot section going against WP:FILMNFI. As for the Commons image, I have tagged it for deletion since just because a video is located on Youtube does not mean the film is in the public domain. If you thought the file belonged on Commons, you should be arguing for this file to be deleted under WP:F8, and to argue that both should be kept is inconsistent. Nothing in your response talks about the critical commentary needed for this image, how it passes either of the two points of WP:NFCC I brought up or WP:FILMNFI. The film has a pivotal moment when the lead character reveals that she has a murderous intent, which is clearly evident in pulling out a gun as she rehearses a speech she wants to deliver to Adolf Hitler. This is plainly evident in the illustration and not mentioned in the plot summary as it is a salient point that is covered by the illustration. The illustration caption does make that connection. The film, Passport to Destiny is available on many sources including the Turner Classics Movies broadcast which was originally where I saw the film. The 1944 RKO catalog, like all the period films from this studio, has not been renewed in terms of copyright status so it does fit as being in the public domain. Youtube has been removing media that has questionable status. There are many film articles with similar illustrations of plot, production or background information. The illustration was placed into Wikimedia Commons as it complies with the public domain status of a film that does not have its copyright renewed, as applies to every film from the RKO catalog of that era. If you do not feel the text covers what is shown in the image, then you should add text to the plot summary, since we do not use fair use images to show plot points per WP:FILMNFI because there is not critical commentary of the image. There are not "many film articles with similar illustrations of plot". You cannot argue that the same image has a fair use rationale here on Wikipedia and a public domain rationale on Commons, it has to be one or the other. Delete: Although I could easily salvage the image by creating a soundtrack article, given the size of the soundtrack section in Moodu Pani, I will not because the main article itself is very short, and most of the content comes in the soundtrack section. So the image may be deleted. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:26, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fails WP:NFCC#8 with no contextual significance and its omission would not be detrimental to understanding. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:54, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Although it is a screenshot from one of the film's most iconic scenes, the image does not have any sourced commentary that justifies why it should stay. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:26, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
