West Hill School is a secondary academy in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, England. It was established in 1927.[1]

In 2012 work started on building a brand new technology block which officially opened in June 2013. It houses a Resistant Materials room on the ground floor and two RE rooms on the first floor

In July 2015 the newly rebuilt New Block opened as The Hewitt Building. This building houses humanities,English and a conference room.

History

West Hill School was formally a home and owned by the Harrison family headed by Thomas Harrison. One of his sons, William Harrison built West Hill in 1922 and his brother Abel built Highfield House.

West Hill was purchased On 24th Mar 1927 and renamed West Hill Council School (boys only school) and started with ten classrooms.[1]

It became a Specialist Science College in September 2004.[1]

On 1 August 2011, West Hill School officially gained academy status.
