Should this article not be merged with the "Elephanta Caves" article? The Elephanta island carries no significance by itself. It is famous only because of the caves. Without the caves, the island is just like any other island with dense forests/trees on it.

We get to know how electricity is supplied to this island - that is an important piece of info. I agree the first police chief's name seems out of place, but your removal due to "irrevelance" was not justified. Besides, how does it harm the article to add an extra tidbit of information? Island surface
