AFAIK - it was copyed from helicopter that came to USSR as a gift from US President during Chrushev visit to this country. Can this be confirmed or smth?--Oleg Str (talk) 08:59, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, it wasn't, as the Soviet Union never received such a gift. This helicopter is superficially similar to the H-19 (mostly because of the cockpit stepped-up above the engine compartment), as is noted in the article, but the mechanics are completely different; they are merely two different helicopters of a similar design.
