The Dollop draft article

Hey, saw your post in the Teahouse about wanting to work on improving Draft:The Dollop. I'd be happy to help out with that if you like, I had a quick look around and found some sources that might help push it into passing the requirements of WP:WEB. Let me know if you're interested. Daduzi talk 13:06, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks User:Daduzi, that'd be a great help. Along with expanding on the article, I was looking to include a listing of episodes/titles/length, etc. If you think that'd be useful and worthwhile, I can start getting that together in the next few days. - NsTaGaTr (talk) 13:52, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
For now, I'd say the main priority should be adding stronger sources so that the article can pass notability requirements. A complete episode list might actually harm the chances of the article passing, as it wouldn't be backed by a strong source. There might be a case for a "notable episodes" section, however, with mention of episodes that attracted independent reporting or further action (e.g. the episode on competitive tickling leading to Dave and Garyeth recording comentary on Tickled. The full list could always come later. The first task, though, is assembling any mentions of the podcast in regional, national or international media, and incorporating information from those sources into the text. To that end, here's a list of sources I've found (ones marked with in bold would be considered strong sources):

If we can smoothly integrate all of the starred sources into the article, I think that should be enough to pass review. I'll be willing to help out in any way needed. Daduzi talk 15:32, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I think I was probably seeing this in the grand 'completed' state instead of the smaller chunks of 'what needs to be done first, then the rest later'. What a noob.  ;) - NsTaGaTr (talk) 17:21, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, the whole process of passing notability requirements can be hard to follow. Looking around, I think a good model to follow for the article would be [[1]]; I can get started on the "background" section later today. Daduzi talk 01:49, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've done the background section, feel free to take a look and improve it further. The article still needs work though. As a draft to-do list I'd say we need to:
  • Change as many references as possible to point to outside sources (i.e. not the Dollop websites or links to podcast episodes)
  • Add a "Reception" section as in WTF with Marc Maron, including examples of positive reviews, awards and chart performances
  • Add a "Notable episodes" section, referencing any episodes that were reported on by other sources
  • Format references to include as much information as possible; especially author + source names, ideally with the source name linked if it has on article on Wikipedia
  • Final cleanup

Let me know what you'd like to focus on, if you think there's anything else that needs doing, and if there's any help I can offer. Daduzi talk 08:37, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
