Jonathan Vigliotti (born March 20th, 1983) is a foreign correspondent with CBS News based in London. He joined CBS in May 2015.[1] [2]His reports can be seen regularly on the network's news programs, and affiliate service Newspath.[3] Previously he worked for WNBC in New York and contributed to the New York Times.

Biography

Jonathan grew up in Mt. Kisco, New York and attended Fordham University where he studied journalism and architecture. He graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Jonathan has traveled extensively, is a NAUI-certified scuba diver and is currently training for his pilot's license.

Professional Background

While a student, Jonathan reported and anchored news updates for NPR affiliate WFUV and interned at ABC's 20/20. Before joining CBS News, he reported and anchored at KJCT-TV (ABC) in Grand Junction, Colorado, WTMJ (NBC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and WNBC in New York City. He has also contributed reports for Current TV, the York Times' Travel Section, and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.[4]

During his career he has covered a wide range of stories including the earthquake in Haiti, Hurricane Sandy [5][6], the Newtown school shooting, Boston Marathon bombing, ongoing search for MH370 and the Paris terrorist attack.

Awards

He has received 1 national Emmy award and 6 regional Emmy awards including "Best On-Camera Talent" for his 2011 investigation into the online gun trade and "Breaking News" for his field reporting during Hurricane Sandy in 2013.[7] He has also received two Edward R. Murrow awards [8] [9] and three Associated Press awards for his reporting and breaking news coverage.
