Marek Rosa is a Slovak video game producer and designer. Rosa is known as the CEO, CTO and founder of Keen Software House, an independent game development studio that produces the games Space Engineers [1] and Medieval Engineers .[2] Rosa gained notoriety mostly after the success of the studio’s second title, Space Engineers, an Early Access sandbox game that was released in October 2013 and sold more than 1 million copies in its first year.[3][4]

In January 2014, Rosa expanded Keen Software House’s area of interest to general artificial intelligence. On July 7, 2015 Marek Rosa announced GoodAI, his company in general artificial intelligence research and development. [5][6] Marek Rosa contributed $10 million to the budget for the general artificial intelligence company, which he expects will run for 10+ years.[7][8][9]

GoodAI is an international team of 20 researchers based in Prague, Czech Republic. In 2017, GoodAI has launched The General AI Challenge - an international competition designed to tackle crucial research problems in human-level AI development. The competition roadmap comes from the Facebook AI research faction. It is run in partnership with Microsoft and NVIDIA and has $5 million prize fund.[1]. Marek Rosa and GoodAI want to incentivize talent to focus on developing safe and beneficial general purpose artificial intelligence. The Challenge was presented as a “citizen science” approach to the research needed to push the boundaries of AI.

In 2016, Marek Rosa announced GoodAI Applied, a sister company of GoodAI focused on business implementations of general AI solutions.[2]
