IP blocks

Hey,

I'm just a bit curious as to why you never seem to use the {{school block}} template when blocking IP addresses, and instead use the {{anonblock}} template... For example, [1] and [2] - the block logs in these IP addresses indicate that they have been school-blocked in the past. Also, both of these IP's are confirmed to be school IP addresses, see [3] and [4]. I know that the blocks say "Likely a school based on behavioral evidence", but I would think that using the {{school block}} template would be more accurate here...

No big deal, just a bit curious, that's all... 2601:1C0:4401:F360:B8DD:17E3:BAAB:24AB (talk) 03:16, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hadn't noticed that - in Twinkle (which does all my heavy lifting in terms of templates) selecting the preset "anonblock - likely a school" applies {{anonblock}}. Having had a dig around, I see I can pick a different template for "likely a school", so I'll try to remember to do that in the future -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 21:41, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Good to know. I don't really know much about Twinkle, so I can't really understand what you mean by "selecting the preset", but it looks like, for example, you've placed a school block template on this IP address' talkpage, but you still used the anonblock template in the block log; so maybe that's what the "preset" means...? Anyhow, the only thing that really matters is that it helps to quell the vandalism, so thanks! :-) 2601:1C0:4401:F360:B8DD:17E3:BAAB:24AB (talk) 22:17, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
