BloombergQuint is an Indian business and financial news organization, a joint venture of Bloomberg News and Quintillion Media. [3] Its main content is based on the Indian economy, international finance, corporate law & governance and business news.

History

Raghav Bahl, the founder and former managing director of Network18, [4] set up Quintillion Media along with his wife Ritu Kapur [5] within six months of his controversial exit from Network18 in July 2014. [6] Later, he signed a joint venture with Bloomberg L.P. to launch a digital product – BloombergQuint and a TV channel. According to the deal, Raghav Bahl will own 74% stake and Bloomberg the remaining 26%; the pact is for a 10-year period, as reported by Livemint. [7]

Team and Launch

Sanjay Pugalia has joined BloombergQuint as the President and Editorial Director. [8] Anil Uniyal, former CEO of CNBC-TV 18, has been appointed as the CEO for BloombergQuint. Menaka Doshi, a former CNBC-TV18 Executive Editor & recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award 2005-06 in the category of Business & Economic Journalism (Broadcast) [9] is the Managing Editor of the organization. The web portal is now live and has claimed to cross 1 Million monthly users within six months of going Live. [11] The TV Channel which will go live after obtaining all regulatory approvals and licenses, as reported by Financial Express. It is reported to be a free-to-air channel initially. [12]
