Laxmi Pratisthan (Nepali: लक्ष्मी प्रतिस्थान) is a memorial foundation working for social transformation in Nepal. The organisation is dedicated to raising awareness of and education of vulnerable kids in the remote region.
History
Laxmi Pratisthan was established in 2010 by a couple as a tribute to their sons who were killed in two different road accidents within nine months in Nepal and United States.
Objective

Bishnu Gautam was born in 1962 in a remote village of Kavrepalanchowk, Nepal. He was a successful businessman. Amidst the successful life, his family suddenly encountered with a great tragedy. They lost their son in a road accident in Nepal. After nine month, their second son was killed in another road accident in United States. His family went into great depression. A deep shock and unbearable grief turned a businessman and an entre-preneur to a social worker. Thereafter Laxmi Pratisthan was formed. Laxmi is the name of the mother of two sons who died in road accident.
Programs/Activities
Education
Laxmi Prathisthan is actively working in providing education to marginalized kids in Nepal. The organisation has completed following projects so far.
- Construction of well facilitated hostel and its operation for 123 Chepang Children.
- Contruction of school block in Kavre
- Establishment of libraries in Kavre, Nepal.
- Safe water drinking facilities for Children of Kavre.
- Provide land facilities dedicated to the school for safe water drinking facilities.
- Lavatory facilities for school in Kavre.
- School dress distribution to marginalized kids.
- Sponsorship of teacher for schools.
- Scholarship to needy children in different parts of the country.
Friend for a Friend Campaign
This campaign is conceived with an objective to create the feeling of fraternity in which a capable friend can help the friend in need through his generous contribution and help the Chepang children to get out of their deprivation and poverty by ensuring their basic and fundamental rights to proper food, cloths and education thus enabling them to earn their livelihood as proficient and responsible citizen in the future. This campaign is aimed to fill the void between the rich and the poor and help them to lead competent and esteemed lives and ultimately remove their tag of marginalized or underprivileged people. The campaign has already found friend for 106 children.
