Ricardo Jamal Allen (born December 18, 1991) is an American football free safety for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Purdue.
Early years
Allen attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida.[1] Allen committed to Purdue University on October 16, 2009.[2]

College career
As a junior in 2012, Allen broke the Purdue record for interceptions for touchdowns.[3] He was a second team All-Big Ten Conference selection.[4]

Professional career
2014 NFL Draft
Allen was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.[6]
Atlanta Falcons
He signed a four-year contract with the Falcons on May 18, 2014.[7] He was added to active roster on December 16, 2014 after fellow defensive back Robert Alford was sent to injured reserve.
He became the starting free safety for the 2015 season. In his first NFL start, he intercepted a Sam Bradford pass to end the game and give the Falcons a 26-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished the 2015 season with 3 interceptions, 1 sack, and 4 passes defended.
In 2016, Allen started all 16 games at free safety for the Falcons, recording 90 tackles, three pass break-ups and two interceptions.
