Have Patience

Dear friend, i would really appreciate your patience when tagging any article for deletion. Do not propose any article for Deletion in a rush. Maybe someone is working on it. Thanks. Jeromeenriquez (talk) 23:42, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SutureOut

Hello - I'm not clear on why you deleted my article about SutureOut. I'm in the middle of writing the page and only making it factually accurate. Not including anything promotional. Simply about the company and it's current status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sutureout (talkcontribs) 16:49, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm puzzled as to why you nominated my article for deletion. I'm still adding references, for one thing, but this is an up-and-coming actor who has appeared in major films, and is set to continue doing so.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MangoZona (talkcontribs) 16:23, 20 August 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nerdyclayton (talkcontribs) [reply]

Deleted stub meets guidelines for a stub

You marked my stub on Eugene Asti for deletion, citing criterion A7, "No indication of importance." However, I read the directions for "What makes a good stub" and I believe I followed the guidelines scrupulously. The guidelines for stubs do not say that stubs must indicate importance. Notability is mentioned in passing by the guidelines and I believe the subject of the stub I created is notable, but the guidelines on "What makes a good stub" do NOT say that a stub must indicate the notability of the subject. Having invested a couple hours in the creation of the stub, including time spent carefully reading "Wikipedia:Make stubs" in its entirety. I am feeling pretty angry at the moment.Dixhuitiemiste (talk) 21:17, 20 August 2017 (UTC)Dixhuitiemiste[reply]

I have filed a report at WP:ANI. I hadn't seen the matter of using your user page as a user talk page, or their apparent reference to themselves as Money Mike Sandberg (although I conjectured that in the ANI). Robert McClenon (talk) 04:12, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

S e m i - R e t i r e d

Sir, I'm requesting you to check the references again. I hope, you'll find convincing references. I do strongly believe correct TAG would be #refimprove. Please, i have put a lot of efforts on this first article. I have followed mar-ups and references style from other Wikipedia pages. Any suggestions is much appreciated. I'm really sorry if i offended any way, i shouldn't have reverted your edits. --G.Isabelle (talk) 05:25, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Reddogsix, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 16,991 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.

Technology update:

  • Rentier has created a NPP browser in WMF Labs that allows you to search new unreviewed pages using keywords and categories.

General project update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation Community Tech team is working with the community to implement the autoconfirmed article creation trial. The trial is currently set to start on 7 September 2017, pending final approval of the technical features.
  • Please remember to focus on the quality of review: correct tagging of articles and not tagbombing are important. Searching for potential copyright violations is also important, and it can be aided by Earwig's Copyvio Detector, which can be added to your toolbar for ease of use with this user script.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

Hello Reddogsix,

I declined your speedy. Please be aware: "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance." He is a mayor, which is a "credible claim of significance". You can try AfD if you want. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:09, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

3rd Child of Madde & Chris

Hello, I'm just wondering why you decided you wanted the page for the baby deleted. The baby is a real person so it deserves to have its own page! :) Timix321 (talk) 04:24, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Reddogsix, I wonder why an article about a young blogger in Nigeriawas nominated for seletion by YOU... Thats doesnt stop people to read about her. Before writing the pages for her, we have carefully investigate. Anyway, wr have edited the Award corner because the organisers of the event disnt use Internet to document their event. Russell Geoffrey Banks Article

Hi, Reddogsix I believe that was extremely hasty wanting the Russell Geoffrey Banks Page deleted. I would ask you to change the parts you dislike but as he is an actor ranked on IMDB. His latest film who's watching oliver the film he is the lead has won 12 film festivals this year. Ghost house is currently in the cinema in 8 countries. He has done large commercial campagines and is a growing star in the horror genre. Myself I am new to writing articles but would be greatly appriciative of your help to make this article right thank you.

Apologies

I declined your CSD nomination of Vicky Kadian as it appeared to have more to it than previous versions but I went back and had a closer look after suspicions about the editing behaviour of the author and it appears to be mostly made up an/or copied from other articles so I deleted it as vandalism. D Roopa

Hi, My article D Roopa has been speedy deleted, it all happened soon after I moved the page from D Roopa Moudgil to D Roopa IPS. Fact is earlier somebody had created page with the name D Roopa IPS, which was deleted due to some reasons, which I wasn't aware. So the page got deleted soon after I moved the page to D Roopa IPS.
I created new page yet again with the name D Roopa, even that has been deleted and is now it's in contest for deletion status. I have no idea why it has been deleted and what's going on I made myself clear at the contested deletion page as to why it should not be deleted

He is just a novice (he knows nothing about editings). Visionjohnny (talk) 05:06, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Visionjohnny - We were all new at one time. Rather than discourage the user, it is probably better to encourage the user and watch over their edits. If you feel you are more experienced, perhaps you can offer your assistance and guidance. Wikipedia is a community that encourages creation of articles that meet Wikipedia guidelines. When a user is unfamiliar with those guidelines, we should help the user understand where they are deficient. reddogsix (talk) 05:25, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Taillard page edits

Please specify:

Why is this being flagged for copyright violations? Michael Taillard, PhD MBA.jpg This is a picture taken from a wedding and is available to anyone. No one owns the rights to it.

Also, please specify what elements of this page are considered advertisements. There is nothing on the page that directs people to a website where they can purchase anything.

Also, please specify what elements of the notability criteria are missing. A globally-published university professor meets the Wiki standards of notability for academia.

In addition, please stop saying this is autobiographical. He has not been able to work since the accident, so we are trying to preserve his contributions to the field.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtaillard (talkcontribs)

@Mtaillard, let me see if I can address your questions.
  • The image is certainly copyrighted. Unless it was released by the photographer under a license such as CC BY-SA 3.0, once published it copyrighted.
  • The article is self-promotion. The section, "Author and editor" with the exception of the last paragraph is an example of this.
  • The article lacks in-depth, non-trivial, secondary coverage. The major of references are examples of his work. Although it could probably be argued that the number of Worldcat entries would support notability, better referencing would help provide a strong basis for notability. I see nothing that supports his being a professor, I would hesitate using that description if he is not a fully tenured professor.
  • The reason it is marked as autobiographical is the editor that created it is named Mtaillard. If not autobiographical, it is certainly a Conflict of interest. reddogsix (talk) 02:38, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update: 1) The image matter is being addressed in a nomination page in Wiki Commons. The person who took the picture (his wife) will be available tomorrow to provide permission. Can you please specify exactly how she would do that? Does she just go to the nomination page and say "I give permission" or something of that nature? Is there a release form that needs to be completed?

2) A variety of edits have been made to the article by multiple people, including 3 Wiki editors and the general public, in addition to myself. It has been deemed to no longer contain advertising, so that was removed by another editor. A selection of new citations have been added (e.g.: appearances at book signings, associations with the Economic Policy Institute and American Economic Association) so that the basis for notability in the article has been improved, though as you said, the sheer volume of Worldcat entries makes a better argument. As for being a professor, reference 10 links to the syllabus for MSA602 at Central Michigan University's business grad school, at which Taillard teaches. It includes his name as the professor of the course. Would you agree that these things provide sufficient evidence of notability?

3) Another editor did clarify that while the article is not autobiographical, since it was originally written by someone who knows Taillard, that it does present the potential to violate a neutral point of view. The article has now had several contributors, including 3 Wiki editors, and several changes have been made. You made several changes, yourself recently. Did you find anything that would violate neutrality that needs to be addressed? If so, please let me know so that it can be altered. If not, can the warning be removed? Mtaillard (talk) 17:57, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update 2: @Reddogsix: Found another old bit of evidence of notability. Michael was invited to sign-on to the INFORM Act as a professor at Bellevue University. https://www.theinformact.org/petition-list Although it doesn't say it on there, he was later hired by Dr. Laurence Kotlikoff to travel to DC and discuss the act with members of Congress. This was supported in some way by The Can Kicks Back. The entire point was to pressure Congress into passing fiscal reforms. He can be seen here before the start of a press conference in DC, wearing the white suit. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5503/10593559523_c112c5a51d.jpg Mtaillard (talk) 12:54, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
