Sonal Holland MW is a Mumbai-based wine professional and the first Indian Master of Wine.

Education

In 2016, Holland was named Master of Wine (MW) from the London-based Institute of Masters of Wine.[1][2] Prior to the MW, Holland received Level 4 Diploma in Wines & Spirits from Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).[3]

Holland also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mumbai, and a Diploma in Hotel Management from the IHM Mumbai.[4]

Career

Holland founded the Holland Wine Academy in 2009, institution offering certified WSET wine courses and consultancy services hotels and the trade.[5] She has worked as the Divisional Head of Wine & Beverage at ITC Hotels.[6]

Holland launched SoHo Wine Club in India, in 2016[7] and launched India Wine Insider 2017, India’s first-ever survey of the urban Indian wine consumer.[8][9]

In 2016, Holland co-founded India Wine Awards, India’s first awards to recognize wine professionals.[10][11]
