Oswaldo is a Birdo Studio animated cartoon produced for Cartoon Network Brazil and TV Cultura. The series was created by Pedro Eboli, which premiered on October 11, 2017 on Cartoon Network.[1] It will also premiere on TV Cultura on the October 29, 2017.[2]
The company Birdo Studio is also responsible for being in charge of the Vinicius and Tom shorts aired on the same channel during the time of the Rio 2016 olympics, which are also based on the olympics' official mascots.
The show was a runner-up for an idea pitching project in Brazil, back in 2014,[3] with 'Cartoon.Job' being the overall winner, however it was eventually picked up for a full series.
On October 7, 2017, the series was distributed by Kid Glove.
Plot
The plot follows the misadventures of a 12-year old penguin called Oswaldo who is a lovable but misunderstood penguin, going on adventures with his friends, Tobias and Léia. Together they help him face his biggest challenge yet: stepping outside his comfortable refrigerated home and dealing with middle school in the hot environment of Rio de Janeiro.
