Mahjong Trails is a casual free-to-play match-two puzzle video game released by MegaZebra in July 2010. The game is hosted on the social networking site Facebook.
In the game, players complete levels by clearing all the tiles from the board as fast as possible. Lori, a talking Brazilian parrot, guides the player through a wide range of levels which get increasingly more difficult. The game is a take on the tile-based game Mahjong.[1] [2]
Gameplay
Players remove tiles by selecting two free tiles of the same kind (free tiles change color when the player clicks on them with the mouse). There are various different kinds of tiles with different motifs. A free tile must have at least one side unblocked in order to be matched. In order to unlock the next layout, players have to clear a certain number of tiles of a layout. Players get points by matching pairs of tiles, for every 10 pairs matched (remaining seconds are added as points) and after completing a puzzle (remaining seconds are added as points). Completing a level rewards you with a score and a star rating. In addition, players can also challenge their friends and compete for the best high score.[3]
Reception
The game is listed as one of the top grossing games on Facebook and it has 1 million monthly active users.[4] [5]
