Nandini Nair born in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India, is a television personality, talk show host, performer, television anchor, and a professional disc jockey (DJ) and radio jockey (RJ) under the stage name DJ Envy.[1] She appears on her talk show Hello Namaste.[3] She appeared in the film Aedan directed by Sanju Surendran.[4] Nandini Nair has won three Indian National Film Awards.[2] Her husband is Vinay Nair.[1]

Early life

She started her profession in the industry working as a Video Jockey for Asianet Dubai. She has also been hosting shows in India and abroad.[5] Before taking up Hello Namaste,[3] a celebrity chat show, she was an RJ for about one and a half years. She is also known as a DJ.[5] She was a resident DJ for Crowne Plaza Cochin and people nicknamed her as "DJ Lady Envy"[5]

Adjustments incident

In 2014, Nandini Nair went public with an incident in which she was offered money and a chance at a movie role in return for "adjustments" (a euphemism for sexual favors) in a Facebook chat with a person claiming to be a Malayalam cinema ("Mollywood") film producer.[6][7] She stated that it was not the first such offer she had received; another similar incident, using the same euphemism, had even occurred on International Women's Day the same year (8 March 2014).[6] She stated that "the casting couch still exists ... everyone should raise their voice against it".[6]
