The Huawei P10 is a high-end Android phablet smartphone made by Huawei. Released in February 2017, the P10 was the successor of the Huawei P9. Some of its notable features include a 5.5-inch display and a Leica dual camera, which uses 3D[1] detection and dynamic illumination to enhance images.
Specifications
Design
Announced at Mobile World Congress 2017, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus and P10 Lite are constructed from solid metal. On the P10 series, Huawei has relocated the fingerprint scanner to the front of the phone, where it can be used in place of on-screen buttons.[2] P10 using refined version of the “designed by Leica” dual-camera setup seen on its predecessor [3]
Display
Huawei has opted for a Full HD LCD display for the P10, while the P10 Plus gets a QHD one. The display is noticeably brighter, which eases viewing under strong sunlight.[4]

Camera
Huawei P10 uses the Leica-branded camera, which comes with a 12MP colour sensor with a 20MP monochrome chip. Both lenses have an F2.2 aperture and the colour variant also features optical image stabilization. Color and monochrome image information are combined for better image detail, higher dynamic range, and lower noise levels. Other features include laser-assisted autofocus, a two-tone LED flash, and 4K video recording.[6]
On the software out of things, a new 'Leica-style' portrait mode uses 3D face detection and applies a combination of fake bokeh(?), adjustable illumination and 'beautification' effects to the portrait subject(s).
"Corner cutting" incident
Sparse oleophobic layer
After the Huawei P10 went on sale, there were reports of netizens who found that the screen has a reduced layer of oleophobic coating. This caused some debate with the media and Internet users. The German technology media Areamobile asked Huawei the reason, which was given as: "We reduced the oleophobic coating of the P10 series to ensure that the fingerprint sensor and the touch screen would work." On April 20, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. senior Vice president Yu Chengdong published a microblogging article, which said "In order to better show the performance of the P10, we've reduced the oleophobic coating layer", but new deliveries of the P10 mobile phone has had the oleophobic coating added.
Flash
In April 2017, there are Internet users in Baidu Tieba, Sina microblogging, and other social networks reflect the Huawei P10 different batches of flash memory between the read and write speed test results vary widely, the worst can only reach the standard eMMC 5.1. Users questioned Huawei P10 series suspected eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.0, UFS 2.1 three different specifications flash memory.

Yu Chengdong later published the article again, "run points, configuration and specifications do not represent the real user experience, today's memory is the same."
Charger explosion
In May 2017, a microblogging user published an article stating that only 3 days after purchasing a P10 through the official channels of Huawei, an explosion occurred whilst charging. The user contacted Huawei customer service. The local Huawei after-sales service center requested to check the charger. The results showed that there was no issue. But the user disputed this.
Huawei's official response
On April 20, 2017, Yu Chengdong, president of Huawei, apologized for the matter. Yu Chengdong said in a letter of apology, the incident is a profound alarm for Huawei, reflect on whether the customer-centric. As an engineer, he is extremely sensitive to the technical parameters of the product, plus too much anxiety to express, resulting in the previous "more tough" and inappropriate response. He also said that Huawei full of arrogant attitude for the introspective will implement the work of consumers after work. Yu Chengdong will be led during the holiday season to the retail store in-depth line with the consumer close communication.
May 16, 2017, Yu Chengdong and his team for the first time held a "Huawei mobile open day," hoping to open, do not avoid the mentality of doubt, accept the media questions, and reflect on this incident.
