Juicy Realm is an upcoming roguelike video game developed by Chinese indie game studio SpaceCan Games and published by the also China-based X.D. Network. Its about explorers going into world inhabited by sentient fruit and fighting them. It will be released for Microsoft Windows iyn May 3rd, 2018, and will be ported to the PlayStaion 4 and Nintendo Switch soon after.

Plot

In Juicy Realm, several years in the future plants started to sprout arms and legs, and began to develop self-awareness. Humanity did not some to grasp on how much of threat these creatures posed as they take over the world and top them on the food chain.[1]

Gameplay

Juicy Realm is a roguelike twin-stick shooter where you play as one of the four characters to explore the plants' empire through several maps withe procedural-generated zones, monsters, and items. Players will face-off against all sorts of fruits and collect weapons and gear. You can also expand you camp base as you progress.[2]

Development

The game has been in development for a year by a two-man team at SpaceCan Games, which consists of app developer Tyreal and comic artist biboX, who are long-time gamers. Tyereal is responsible forThe graphics by biboX It's the studio's first game for PC and consoles.[3]

Reception

Before the game has yet to be released, it has gained several awards and nomibations. It was nominated by indiePlay for the Best Game Grand Prize, but won for the Excellence in Visual Art from the same game trade show. Others awards are from the Indie Mega Booth and Bitsumit Vol. 6 [4]
