Love Is For Losers is a studio album by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, released under the pseudonym The Longshot.[1][2] It was released on April 20, 2018. It features original songs written for the album, songs previously written for the musical These Paper Bullets and the film Ordinary World, and one cover song.[3] It was preceded by the release of a 3-song preview, entitled The Longshot EP, on April 12th[4], and several audio teases posted to Instagram in the weeks leading up to the album announcment.[5]

A music video was released for the album's title track on April 20th. While Armstrong performs all instruments on the album, during live performances billed under The Longshot, he is joined by Kevin Preston and David S. Field of the band Prima Donna on guitar and drums, respectively, and longtime Green Day live member Jeff Matika on bass.[6] On April 23rd, an additional single, entitled "Devil's Kind," was released, and Armstrong posted several unheard demos and cover songs from the Longshot project to the music-sharing platform SoundCloud.[7]
