Lee graduated from Nanyang Technological University's (NTU's) School of Art, Design and Media, and she is also an illustrator and film-maker.[1] Prior to joining SGAG, her two short films "Keep Mum" and "Graduation" were featured in the Singapore Short Film Awards, Cana Film Festival and Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards.[3][4]
Professional background
Actress and Film maker
Lee was discovered by SGAG after they came across her blog,[2][5] in which she drew comics and shared stories about her life.[2][6] Although Lee first joined SGAG in Jan 2016 to start the video team, being the only person in the beginning meant she had to do all the multiple video-related roles herself.[7][8]. Lee still does writing, directing and acting in many of SGAG's videos.[2]
Music
In 2017, Lee travelled to Nashville to work with experienced producers Scott & Ed Cash,[1] and on 20 September 2017, Lee released her first musical work, an EP titled All Our Achilles Heels. Her album was also awarded the National Arts Council presentation grant.[1] Lee was first introduced to music through piano classes when she was younger, and started songwriting after teaching herself to play the guitar at the age of 12.[9] Her EP songs have positive messages, and the title track for example, talks about confronting weaknesses and recognising that everyone is different.[1] On 31 August 2017, Lee released her first music video titled Ready For A Savior on Youtube,[10] and followed up with her second music video release on 30 March 2018 titled None Good.[11]
