A tag has been placed on Lockhart Plantation Museum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Lodge Heather No.928 SC

HISTORY OF LODGE HEATHER 928 SC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munnar[1]

Mr. Henry Gribble father of Baroness von Rosenburg, paid the High Range a visit about April 1901. He was a keen Mason and under his persuasion those who were Freemasons got together; six of these were members of Scottish Lodgers, while A. Ff. Martin was a member of an English Lodge, “Faith, Hope and Charity,” Ootacamund. On the 24th May 1902, Lodge Heather was opened. The installation took place by a quorum of seven members, Mr. Gribble officiating. A. Ff. Martin was elected the first Master. A beautiful hymn composed by Mr. Gribble was sung at the opening and again in the little room where we held church services the next day. The words are well worth printing.

We pray our ancient order May rule throughout the land; And we may form as brethren One firm united band. No envy, no hatred, No discord shall be there; For this alone our motto: ‘In all things just and fair’

Our craft each creed embraces, Each colour and each race Here every man is a brother For each we find a place. We worship all one Master, One God we all adore; His guiding aid we ask for, His blessings we implore.

Of one colossal temple We form the living stones, In which by love cemented Love speaks in gentle tones. Built on this firm foundation We deem three duties chief------ To practise to each other Truth, Honour, and Relief.

Thus can we our duty And thus fulfil our trust; Thus can we form, thus only, A perfect Lodge and just; Until the last dread summons Shall call us hence above To that grand \lodge in Heaven The Lodge of perfect love.

Lodge meetings took place full moon and proved a great success. New Masters were installed each year and more than once have the rights of the Masonic funeral been given to Masons who have passed beyond. Baroness von Rosenburg, Mrs. Martin and Miss Anna Martin, sister of Mr. A. Ff. Martin, were the ladies interested in the furnishing of the Lodge, and they made cushions, covered them with dark green silk trimmed with the gold cord. The maid the banner, the elephant drawing of which was taken from a photograph of a very fine tusker from the kedders in Mysore. It was indeed a work art, and is probably in existence to this day. The building where the meeting were first held was part of the present head quarters offices and one of the old rooms is now used by the \General Manager. This rooms were entered by wooden steps placed almost in the same place as the steps are now. Part of that building was the first premises of the Munnar Supply Association. The Lodge meetings were continued for years in these premises, until the present rooms were taken over, they once were used as the club library. The lower rooms form the first station from the steam tram, and the rice stores have been now converted into a very good school for the bigger boys and girls of our writers and clerks.
