Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense museum, located in Tehran on a landscaped site of 21 hectares, is one of the largest museums of Iran which is dedicated to the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988)[1], the conflict known in Iran as "imposed war"[2] or mainly "Holy Defense".[3][4] The museum is consisted of different parts such as Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, flag tower, open area and lake, Parking, conference halls[5], Khorramshahr Mosque, Library and Panorama museum[6]. The main building of museum is consisted of 8 halls[7]; each displays a specific concept of war [8] through many monitors, video projectors, hologram showcases and some other modern technologies[9]. The halls are as follows:[10]

1- "The Butterflies": In this hall some statues and belongings of Iranian martyrs are shown.
2- "Threshold": This hall shows ancient history of Iran and its arts and culture (both in pre-Islamic and Islamic eras) and the events that led to the victory of Iranian Revolution in 1979.
3- "Surprise & Rightness": The concepts of this hall are invasion of Iraq to Iran, bombardment of Iranian cities, refugees and non-military Iranian martyrs.
4- "Defense": The fourth hall is about the full scale defense of Iranian people with different religions and ethnicities.
5- "Peace & Confrontation": Land, aerial and naval operations of Iran, combat engineering, a collection of weaponries of Iranian forces, and victims of mines are subjects of the fifth hall.
6- "Martyrdom": The sixth hall is a remembrance for Iranian martyrs and disabled soldiers.
7- "Victory": The seventh hall shows international supporters of Saddam Hussein and his execution as the initiator of the war.
8- "End": And finally the eighth hall displays Ruhollah Khomeini’s funeral and scientific and military achievements of Iran.
