Senses Fail is a Ridgewood, New Jersey based band that draws heavily from the punk, emo, hardcore, screamo genres (as cited on their Myspace [1]). Their main influences are Chantra Potts, Fairweather, Grade, The Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids, Thursday, Jawbreaker and Saves The Day.

History

The history of Senses Fail starts with the lead singer James "Buddy" Nielsen posting an add on the internet for people to jam with. The current drummer Dan Trapp read the article and brought Dave Miller and Garrett Zablocki from two previous bands he played with before hand. Later, the Bass player Mike Glita, former bass player for Tokyo Rose joined the group. Their first release, on August 16 2002, was a six-track EP on ECA Records, From the Depths of Dreams. This was re-released on April 29 2003, on Drive-Thru Records, with two extra tracks. Their first full-length album, Let It Enfold You, was released on September 7, 2004 on Vagrant Records. It, too, was re-released, with five bonus tracks; three acoustic versions of songs on "Let It Enfold You", a new track named "American Death" and a cover of the song "Institutionalized", which was originally by Suicidal Tendencies. The song "Bite to Break Skin" was going to be the next single for the album, but they went to the studio very quick to record "Still Searching" and it was never released.

In 2005, the band's web site announced the departure, by mutual agreement, of guitarist Dave Miller. He was replaced by Heath Saraceno of Midtown.

On April 4th, 2006, Senses Fail announced that they had begun pre-production on their next album, and that they would be going into the studio to begin recording on May 1st, with producer Brian McTernan. The band announced on June 16th, 2006 that they had completed recording the album, and that it is currently being mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. The album, Still Searching, was released on October 10th. There is also a deluxe edition, including a DVD about the making of the CD.

The band played the 2006 Warped Tour, and is playing the 2006 international Taste of Chaos Tour. They will begin a headlining tour November 24 in Boston to support the new release, which will last until December 21 in Anaheim, and then resume January 10 in Hartford.
