Gay Nineties are a Canadian indie rock band, consisting of Parker Bossley, Bruce Ledingham IV, Daniel Knowlton and Malcolm Holt. The band is after the decade of the 1890s. [1][2] Their music, however, is mainly 1970s-style rock.[3]

History

Gay Nineties released their hit single 'Letterman' in January, 2014, [4] charted at #8 Alternative Rock (Mediabase). The band released an EP, Coming Together.[5]

In 2014 the band was nominated for a CASBY Award for Favourite New Artist [6]. A second single, "Hold Your Fire", received regular radio airplay in 2015.[7]

Their EP album, Liberal Guilt, was released in January, 2015 on Love Letter Recordings/Fontana North.[8] It is a collection of songs inspired by 70s AM pop, glam rock, and Indie Rock.[3]

The album was longlisted for the 2014 Polaris Music Prize.[9] The group was named SIRIUSXM Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2014 SIRIUSXM Indie Awards. [10]
