The Field Guide To Evil is a 2018 anthology horror feature film produced by Legion M[1]. Eight film makers from different countries bring stories or folk tales from their country to the anthology.[2] The stories and filmmakers come from Hungary (Peter Strickland, known for In Fabric), Austria (Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala, known for Goodnight Mommy), Germany (Katrin Gebbe, known for Nothing Bad Can Happen), Greece (Yannis Veslemes), Norway, India (Ashim Ahluwalia, known for Miss Lovely), Poland (Agnieszka Smoczynska, known for The Lure), Turkey (Can Evrenol, known for Baskin), and the United States (Calvin Reeder, known for The Rambler).[3]

Plot

The film comprises treatises on forbidden love, Greek underworld goblins, medieval Hungarian cobblers and US hillbilly folklore.[4]

Reception

The critical reception has been mostly positive, receiving a 67% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Opening at the SXSW Festival, the film was nominated for the SXSW Gamechanger Award.[5] [6]
