I apologize for the outing, but it has been spammed on many reddit threads. Skeptic from Britain (talk) 02:01, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see that. It looks like the pages have already been marked with {{Not a ballot}}, and mentioning that they've been linked to on Reddit is fine if you're trying to warn the discussion closers about SPA votes. You just can't accuse a Wikipedian of being responsible for those posts unless they've disclosed it themselves on-wiki. GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:03, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@GorillaWarfare: No, this is not fine, he is linking to a personal reddit account, as a personal attack on me. The links to the reddit user need to be removed. ~ Mellis (talk) 04:28, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
User:Skeptic from Britain is doing exactly what @WhatamIdoing: told him not to do, "This is not okay. Please don't accuse people of only being here to peddle views about a diet, especially when you're talking to a new editor who's only made a few dozen edits. It's not WP:CIVIL, and it doesn't help new people learn what they need to know. That kind of aggressive comment is discouraging to every editor, and potential editor, who reads it. I know you can do better than that. Please make a habit to always Wikipedia:Comment on content, not on the contributor. WhatamIdoing (talk) 06:09, 14 December 2018 (UTC)" He is attacking my credibility and exposing my personal identity, I feel very hurt and harmed by his actions, and he keeps clearing this talk page to hide all of his wrongdoing. I want his comments about me and my identity removed. ~ Mellis (talk) 04:37, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Mellis: I don't believe any of the remaining edits connect a Reddit account with a Wikipedian, but if they do feel free to email me or contact the oversight team so that they can be handled. If there are outing concerns, it's best they be handled privately (via email) to minimize additional damage.
It is not inappropriate to link to locations where off-wiki canvassing is occurring so long as they do not accuse a Wikipedian who has not disclosed their Reddit account of being behind it. GorillaWarfare (talk) 04:39, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Mellis the real question is why you have been writing negative things about my Wikipedia account off Wikipedia (this is considered off-wiki harassment), and I could email the Wikimedia Foundation this evidence. You have not apologised for your behaviour, yet you play the victim on here. Skeptic from Britain (talk) 13:00, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
User:Skeptic from Britain I sincerely apologize for making you feel I was targeting you or your Wikipedia account. My concern was a direct reaction to all the content you want removed from Wikipedia, regarding specific dietary lifestyles. This affects me personally and your comments linking to my personal account are still very hurtful. I removed my off-wiki discussion of you out of respect and I hope you will stop trying to attack my credibility and insulting me and other people who choose to limit carbohydrates in their diet. I have a right to request the content be kept on Wikipedia. Please be respectful.~ Mellis (talk) 14:44, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
