Moon Ga-young (born (1996-07-10)July 10, 1996) is a South Korean actress. She played roles in Heartstrings (2011), EXO Next Door (2015), The Merchant: Gaekju 2015 (2015), Mirror of the Witch (2016) and Don't Dare to Dream (2016). She also starred in short drama Mimi and drama Tempted.

Early life

Moon was born in Karlsruhe, Germany to South Korean parents; her family moved back to Korea when she was 10 years old.[2][3]

Career

Moon began her acting career in 2006 as a child actress, appearing in both film and television. In 2014, the teenage Moon played her first leading role as the title character in Mimi, a four-episode mystery/romance drama that aired on cable channel Mnet.[4][5] In April 2015, Moon portrayed the female protagonist in the web drama, EXO Next Door which aired on Naver TV Cast.[6] She then played supporting roles in hit dramas Don't Dare to Dream and Live Up to Your Name.[7][8]

In 2017, she starred in the drama special Waltzing Alone.[9] In 2018, she starred in romance drama Tempted, based on the 2003 film in French Untold Scandal.[10] Her performance won her the Excellence Award for Best Actress at the KBS Drama Awards.[11]

In 2019, Kim was cast as one of the female lead roles in Welcome to Waikiki 2.[12][13]
