Wines That Rock is a privately-held New York City-based partnership between music industry business managers RZO and winemakers Mendocino Wine Co. Wines That Rock was founded and debuted its first products in 2009.

Wines That Rock creates custom-blended wines that are packaged in bottles featuring widely-recognized and iconic rock and roll artwork, primarily but not limited to album artwork. The company claims that each blend is made specifically for the artwork that will be featured on the bottle and as such is infused with the essence of the album or event it selebrates.

The company's first three products are the 2007 Rolling Stones Forty Licks Merlot, a 2006 Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2008 Woodstock Chardonnay.

Business

Wines That Rock launched their products on October 29, 2009. Sold initially on a direct-to-consumer basis through their website, www.wines-that-rock.com, and with tasting events at the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary Concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY on October 29 and 30, 2009.

On December 12, 2009, the company began selling its products at retail outlets other than its website for the first time at Stew Leonard's stores in Farmingdale and Yonkers, NY.

Environmental Commitment

The Mendocino Wine Co., the winery that creates the blends, was certified as having 100% organic vineyards in 2008. The winery is carbon neutral and uses 100% renewable energy.[1]

Wines That Rock uses 100% consumer recycled paper for their labels, packaging stationery, and other printed materials. Their case boxes are made from recycled, chlorine-free corrugated cardboard. Their materials are printed with soy and water-based inks.
