HBM Iqbal is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament from Ramna-Tejgaon, Dhaka.[1]

Career

Iqbal was elected from Dhaka-10 in 1996.[1] He is the Chairman of Premier Bank Limited.[2] he is the vice-president of Dhaka city Awami league.[3]

It has been his vision since the beginning of the Premier Bank to see it as the best amongst the top financial institutions of Bangladesh. Under his true leadership and guidance Premier Bank, with its motto “service first”, has recently been awarded Fastest Growing SME Bank 2018 by International Finance UK. [5] Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal is also the Group Chairman of a multi-dimensional corporate body having interest in the field of Banking Insurance, Leasing, Manufacturing, Cement, Training, Distribution House, Travel & Tourism, Aviation still, Supermarket, Medical Centre, Hotel & Restaurant etc. He is the chairman of Ben Lub (Pte) Ltd., Bengal Tiger Cement Industries Ltd., Air Concern International Ltd., Centaur Ltd., and Bukhara Restaurant (Pvt) Ltd. He is also the Managing Director of Beacon Travel International Ltd., Proprietor of Iqbal Centre & Concern International. In addition to his success in trade and business, he is immensely reputed for his huge contribution to the field of education. He served as the Chairman of a number of reputed schools, colleges, and universities of the country. He is a former Member of Parliament of Dhaka-10, Tejgaon Ramna Area, a former Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Science and Technology, former president, Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB), former Chairman, Tejgaon University College, Viqarunnisa Noon School &n College, Ispahani School & College, Willes Little Flower School, Siddheswari University College, Dhaka Medical College & Hospital and Habibullah Bahar University. He is a former syndicate member of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Former President of Bangladesh-Malaysia Friendship Society.[6]
