Beth Houlbrooke is the Deputy Leader of ACT New Zealand. She currently serves on the Rodney Local Board and was formerly the Chair thereof.

Biography

Houlbrooke started her political career in local politics and was formerly the chair of the Rodney local board.[1] She co-founded and was the leader of the Rodney First local government ticket, which secured five of the nine available seats on the Rodney Local Board in 2016, in their first election[2].

She contested the Rodney electorate in both 2011 and 2014 for ACT placing sixth on both occasions.[3][4] In the lead up to the 2017 election, Houlbrooke was appointed Deputy Leader of ACT New Zealand after the resignation of Kenneth Wang.[5] She contested Rodney again and was placed number 2 on ACT's party list.[6]
