Universal USB Installer also known as UUI is an automated Open Source Live Linux USB creation toolkit. It empowers users by enabling them to quickly and easily create a bootable Live USB using the ISO image file from a growing list of supported Linux distributions, antivirus utilities, system tools, and Windows system installers. Unsupported or (Unlisted) ISO files can also be tried against several Unlisted ISO options.[1] UUI was originally created by Lance who began pioneering the Live Linux USB boot process back in 2006.

Key Features

  • Creates a bootable Live USB of many popular Linux distributions
  • Can optionally create a persistent file for saving changes made from the running environment back to the flash drive.
  • Provides additional information regarding each distribution. Including category, homepage url, and download link for quick reference.
  • Intends to use format methods that allow the USB device to remain accessible for other storage purposes.
