RedWarn is great!

RedWarn is great! I'm loving it (even though I need a separate account to use it). Prahlad balaji (RedWarn) (parent accountdiscuss) 16:51, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Special pages

Can you remove the icons on special pages, as they cannot be used? CrazyBoy826 03:17, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback

Can you add an option to disable right-click options? I do not always want them visible. Aasim 04:33, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome Aasim, will add. Thank you for the suggestion! Ed6767 (talk) 12:35, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RedWarn dropdown not working on Timeless (when placed on sidebar)

I wish I could expand those tools again. I think the event handler was not done properly. Can you fix it? Thanks a lot! Aasim 22:20, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome Aasim, thanks for pointing that out! I'll look into it. Ed6767 (talk) 18:39, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Right Clicking/Open in New Page

When I right click on a user/page name, I used to be able to open in a new tab, behind all my other tabs. Now I get a mini-menu of sorts and when I do select an option it takes the focus. I think it should open the page in the background when it was selected via a right-click.Sir Joseph (talk) 15:03, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Joseph, I'm not sure I could implement this due to browser security which is designed to prevent pop-unders, but I'll take a look into what could be done. For now, I use a middle click (click scroll wheel or three-finger trackpad tap) to open in a new tab. Ed6767 (talk) 16:59, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ed6767, OK, but I'm not sure I follow, when I used to right click, I had the option to open in new tab and it went to a new tab, but it wasn't the focus, I went to it when I went to it. Now with Redwarn, when I right click, I get the menu and when I select one of the options, it opens a new tab but it brings it to the main focus. I think that's what you are talking about too, but just wanted to clarify.
Just wanted to mention a bug/issue, when I go to recent changes and then view the list of articles, on the left side I'll see the articles, when I click the article, the right side will not open Redwarn or the article or whatever it's supposed to do. I get a Chrome error. Sir Joseph (talk) 17:56, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sir Joseph, do you mean in RedWarn patrol? Ed6767 (talk) 18:01, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ed6767, yes, and the URL is a BLOB, and the error message is that Wikipedia refused to connect and I get the sad face, on the right side of the screen. The left side works fine and continues to scroll. Sir Joseph (talk) 18:06, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sir Joseph, ah. I know that bug, but I don't receive it when just viewing articles? The only times it comes up is when editing pages, and again, it's another security issue that prevents this from working, but I am working on a solution that would open in a new tab or another mitigation method. Thanks for pointing it out! Ed6767 (talk) 18:10, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ed6767, So I had a hunch it might have something to do with my adblock, and I think it does. I have uBlock Origin on Chrome. I disabled it on the page and I am occasionally getting it to work now. So I think that is the issue, beforehand it wasn't working at all. Sir Joseph (talk) 18:09, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sir Joseph, I use AdBlock Plus and get no issues other than when trying to edit a page, so it could be that Ed6767 (talk) 18:11, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ed6767, OK, thanks. I did have another issue. When you right click on a wiki link, but the wiki isn't this Wikipedia, but another one, for example wikisource, you still get the minimenu but you then have to select one of the options, such as user page or user talk page, but it goes to the English Wikipedia. You can try it out at WP:AN at the Kendrick section, there is a link to his contribs at the wikisource. Thanks. Sir Joseph (talk) 01:38, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sir Joseph, I should clarify now I'm actually fixing these bugs. The issue with patrol was caused by a security update which prevented iframes (what patrol used to get a browser within a browser) from loading Wikipedia. I'm fixing this in the next update - also, the open in a new tab but in the background sadly isn't possible due to that technically counting as a "pop-under" - like have you ever been on one of those really dodgy sites that opens a quadrillion extra windows in the background - many sites stop all that now and it just wouldn't really be possible - but you can still get the same functionality if you use CTRL+click or middle-click on a link to open it in a new tab and in the background. Ed6767 (talk) 14:01, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ed6767, Thanks for the reply, and yes, I am starting to ctrl-click, it's just a new habit I have to learn. Sir Joseph (talk) 01:34, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sir Joseph, if you don't like the right click menu or can't get used to it, in the next update (along with many other major improvements) you can disable this. Ed6767 (talk) 01:41, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
