Bankruptcy Protection

On June 3, 2020, SAIL Outdoors Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act[5]. With major expansions underway since 2017[6], tough competition from other outdoor and sport focused retailers in the Canadian marketplace and then months of shutdowns due to COVID-19 pandemic resulted in financial trouble for the retailer. The retailer plans to address its financial troubles through restructuring[7].
