Kartikeya Gummakonda is an Indian film actor who appears in Telugu-language films. He is known for his role in the film RX 100.[1][2]
Personal life
Graduating from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, he later chose to pursue a career in acting.[1]
Career
Kartikeya made his acting debut with Prematho Mee Karthik (2017), which went unnoticed.[1] His second movie, RX 100, directed by debutant Ajay Bhupathi garnered positive reviews and became a success at the box office.[3][1][4][5] He garnered acclaim for his portrayal of a village man who falls for a city girl.[6] His next film was Hippi directed by Tamil director Krishna and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu.[7][8] Kartikeya worked out to portray the role of a kickboxer.[6] The film released to below average reviews.[9] His second film of 2019 was Guna 369, which released to mixed reviews due to its slow screenplay.[10][11] Guna 369 is about real incident that took place in Ongole.[12] In a review of the film by The Times of India, the reviewer wrote that "Karthikeya does his best to pour life into the titular character".[13] Kartikeya debuted as an antagonist opposite Nani in Gang Leader.[14][15] Kartikeya landed the role after the film's director Vikram Kumar liked his acting in RX 100.[14] He received positive reviews for his portrayal of the antagonist, Dev.[16] His last release of 2019 was 90ML.[17][18][19] In a review of the film by The Times of India, the reviewer wrote that "Kartikeya gets a role that requires him to dance like a dream and fight like a pro for the most part and he aces it completely".[20]
