Lorenzo Colombo (born 8 March 2002) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Milan.[1]
Club career
Born in Vimercate, close to Milan, the towering Colombo is an exponent from Milan youth academy. He started showing his skills off at a very young age. His goal-scoring exploits at the youth levels immediately caught the attention of everyone and he made his debut for the U17 side at the tender age of 15. Due to minor injuries, his time in the Primavera was cut short. However, whenever he played, he had the opponents shaking in fear.
Due to a combination of a packed schedule due to Covid-19 and lack of striking options, he was fast tracked into the senior side. He made his first team debut aged 18, on 12 June 2020, replacing Lucas Paquetá after 82 minutes in a 0−0 home draw against Juventus in the Coppa Italia.[2] On 18 July 2020 he made his Serie A debut in a 5−1 home win against Bologna.[3][4]
On 5 September 2020 he scored his first goal in a 4-1 win against A.C. Monza in a friendly match.[5]
International career
He is currently a member of the Italy U19 side.
Personal life
Colombo is the son of the Italian footballer Angelo Colombo, who also played for Milan in the late 80s.[6]
