Deletion of Icetre (Musician)

Hello Malcolmx15! We would like to bring back this article and edit it with solid and reliable sources. Can you please help?. I read why the article was deleted and when it was first created it was in 2016. The discussions were accurate as the information was not quality so to speak.

Comparison: One of the comments made said this" Only references are from a record label/distribution company Empire Distribution, a bio link to MTV that is broken (and probably a duplicated bio from record label), and one remaining non-trivial reference. Subject in question does not seem to meet any of the 12 MUSICBIO criteria this page" Since then the artist has been featured in RESPECT Magazine, DJ Enuff's That's Enuff, and The Source Magazine (All of which are highly reputable sources and have their own respective Wikipedia's). Number one on the "Criteria for musicians and ensembles" list says "#1. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1]" which none of self-published, all are reliable, and independent from the musician. There are more article links as well that are available those are just examples.

The next one says: "Delete per nomination, one of a billion remix artists with no significant coverage online from WP:RS. I was just about to nominate for speedy deletion as spam, but that can be fixed, unlike the problem of notability. His one claim to fame seems to be "...has also had opportunities to film concerts for Tyler The Creator, Kid Ink, and T-Pain while aslo having opened up for Bone Thugs N Harmony on their "E.1999" tour, IAMSU on his "Eyes On Me" tour, and Kirko Bangz on his "The Trillest" tour with Bun B, although he was not there to perform", which indicates he might have notability as a filmmaker, but I can find nothing online to support this claim, so I'm assuming he simply brought a camera along to shows, and hasn't released any of this." There is multiple misinterpretations to be cleared up. The artist (as stated above in the first comparison) is signed with record label / distribution company EMPIRE Distribution and since then the artist is now with EMPIRE Distribution and Universal Music Group as a songwriter and musician. The artist's personal record label, Blazington Music Group furthermore collects publishing under Universal Music Publishing Group as well. The artist's show performances were descriptive details but not necessarily needed. The artist has performed for rappers Kid Ink, T-pain, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, IAMSU, and Kirko Bangz at their shows which he was designated to perform. The artist's coverage online isn't insignificant. His music has been featured in Instagram Stories, AllMusic.com, Medium, and more. The artist has done work with famous and major artists. He has been featured on songs with artist's such as Mike Zombie whom is signed to Drake's record label OVO Sound. Mike Zombie also is responsible for Drake's platinum single, "Started From The Bottom". The artist has also done with work Vinny Chase, whom is a major label artist signed to Epic Records and has shot videos for Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. The artist recruited him for his album. The artist also worked with former Funk Volume Records artist Kato On The Track who has produced numerous charting singles for major musician's such as Hopsin, Jarren Benton, Rittz, Lil Scrappy, and Dizzy Wright.

The article was deleted in 2016. The discussions were not offensive due to the article's low quality content but now there is high quality material that can be implemented for the artist's article. We hope you can restore the article to a draft or however it's needed to be done. Please and thank you. Bunkytrap34 (talk) 19:21, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that was a long time ago! Much can change in four years and I have no objection to moving the article to draft space where you will have time and space to work on it, to seek help and have it reviewed. If I may offer advice: two or three high-quality and in-depth sources about Mr Icetre's life and work will go a long way. If the worst comes to the worst, there are alternative wikis, such as EverybodyWiki, where articles can also be created. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:44, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Bunkytrap34: You can find the page at draft:IceTre. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much Malcolm. 4 years was a spell ago indeed. I see the draft above. The time used to edit before review submission will be generous. The high quality and in-depth sources will be implemented before the submission process to establish notability. I will also be looking into EverybodyWiki. If there is anything that goes awry with the article then I can contact back. Thank you Malcolm. Bunkytrap34 (talk) 20:47, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been submitted for review. Thank you for bringing it back into a draft. Bunkytrap34 (talk) 17:06, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Wingify

Hi! Any particular reason for deleting the page for Wingify? We are an operational SaaS company out of India. We have recently gone remote. We have more than 280 employees. Not sure why our Wikipedia was deleted? I am part of the marketing team and look after SEO.

The community determined that the company did not meet eligibility criteria for an article in Wikipedia. However, I see it has a page at EverybodyWiki, which is an alternative outlet where such things don’t matter. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:40, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Let me know if there are any changes that should be made to the article, then I'll get those made. If others in the community feel that is self-glorifying or self-nominating, then I would make the appropriate changes. Anubhav22051991 (talk) 11:01, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You should read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest before going any further. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 22:45, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re-instating an unintentionally lost semi-protection

Hi Malcolm, hope you are well.

Last year you semi-protected Marsha P. Johnson for two years. As we've seen since 2017, keeping the page semi'ed [at the least] has been necessary, as it's a perennial target for serious vandalism and unsourced additions.

In June, links from a Google Doodle led to massively increased traffic and a need for increased protection for several days. But when the increased protection level expired, the page was left completely unprotected. Disruption immediately resumed. El C semi'ed it again for a few months, but that expires in a few days.

As you are more familiar with the page history, I'm requesting that we reinstate the semi-protection - either to the original two years, or that we just go ahead and do the inevitable and go to semi-indef. I think it's time for the latter. Here's the log. Thanks! - CorbieVreccan 20:17, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, CorbieVreccan. A lengthy, two-year protection was an alternative to an indefinite period and it’s a pity it was lost. I have the page on my watchlist and I’m sure it’s on yours; if there’s any disruption after the current protection expires, ping me if I don’t get to it first. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:28, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for getting back to me. Protection expires tonight, at 03:34, September 4, 2020. I'm expecting the inevitable. Best, - CorbieVreccan 16:55, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's only been two IPs since the protection expired, but the usual blanking and alteration of sources and sourced content has begun.[1][2][3]- CorbieVreccan 20:28, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@CorbieVreccan: O.K. Watching closely. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:35, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

Hello, can you check this user User:Dahlia La Mar? Probably a sock of User:PavelStaykov. can you ping me after a reply. Thanks. Beshogur (talk) 22:27, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Beshogur. I’m not at all familiar with User:PavelStaykov. It would probably be best to report this at WP:SPI. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:13, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jeffrey M. Cohen

Hello, is Jeffrey M. Cohen substantially different from the version you deleted in July following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeffrey M. Cohen? Thanks, Captain Calm (talk) 17:19, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Captain Calm: Virtually no difference at all! --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:22, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Andy L. Murray

Hello, you deleted Andrew L. Murray a month ago, following AFD. Is it substantially similar to Andy L. Murray, just created? Thanks, Captain Calm (talk) 12:35, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Captain Calm: It is very similar. It obviously uses the same 'template' so to speak - the same format and the same layout - but the text has been expanded with additional citations. P.S. There’s some paid editing going on here. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:25, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Is it close enough for a db-g4, or should the paid editing be looked into first? I wouldn't know how to deal with the latter, apart from ANI after a level 4 warning. Captain Calm (talk) 13:31, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Captain Calm: I think it’s close enough to warrant a db-g4 tag so go ahead. I’ll kick off the paid editing issue with a message on the user talk page and then take it to WP:COIN. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:46, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it looks like Praxidicae has got in before me! :) --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 14:13, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes they're very quick. :-) They already nominated the article for G11 too, so I added G4. Captain Calm (talk) 14:16, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They are very efficient! :) --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 14:20, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

KraneShares article deleted

Hello, you deleted an article titled KraneShares on September 20, 2020, I think the trivial coverage arguments in the deletion nomination were unfair, there were citations from the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg for example. Additionally, there are five other accepted Wikipedia articles referencing KraneShares, surely this should qualify the subject as notable? Chrionexfleckeri1350 (talk) 20:32, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is the discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KraneShares, yes? My role here was to assess the discussion for consensus. My reading of the discussion was that the participants were saying, in their different ways, that this company does not meet the criteria at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and that there was a consensus that this was so. Looking at it again, I do not see any other way of closing this discussion other than delete. If you believe I interpreted the consensus incorrectly, you can ask for a review of my closure at Wikipedia:Deletion review. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:56, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, thank you. Chrionexfleckeri1350 (talk) 18:47, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
