The Cavoodle is one of the most popular crossbreed dogs in Australia[1]. Cavoodles are created by crossing a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle (toy or miniature). The first popular reference to a Cavoodle was Reuben a dog belonging to Julia Gillard the former Prime Minister of Australia[2][3].

Cavoodles hit the headlines in the latter part of 2020 as a fraudulent website was reported to have started offering the cross breeds for a discount just outside Braidwood. The scam was foiled when a local vet Surgery received several calls from people calling to check whether the breeder was legitimate[4].
