- 00:3100:31, 3 June 2019 diff hist −932 Charles Stewart (United States Navy officer) I removed the quotation for three reasons. 1. It was not O'Brien's quote (it came from his book, but he took it from somewhere else). 2. O'Brian did not give his source. 3. Upon reading the biography of Stewart by two naval historians, the description given does not fit the man. Instead, it reads like kind words a minister might give at a funeral.

- 22:2622:26, 23 April 2019 diff hist −14 m Sally Hemings Turner is a well-known, prolific and very conservative law professor. But, he is not a historian. Also, the "Report" he co-authored was not peer reviewed or issued by a reputable academic publisher, and I cannot find a copy in any university library west of the Mississippi. It was ideologically driven. No one can know for sure which Jefferson fathered Hemings children, but Turner does a poor job weighing the evidence.

- 18:3418:34, 20 May 2018 diff hist −7,659 Francisco de Miranda I have removed discussion of Miranda as having been a "crypto-Jew." This appeared to have been based upon fanciful and speculative work of a single Venezuelan writer, José Chocrón Cohen. I could find no discussion of this writer in scholarly journals in the English language (he seems to be an attorney), and no evidence of Miranda being Jewish in any scholarly works on the Jewish diaspora in Latin America. The best recent biography of Miranda
