Adelaide Wolff Kahn (June 10, 1875 - May 15, 1949)[1] was an American collector, patron, philanthropist and sculptor.[2] She was the wife of banker Otto Hermann Kahn.[3]

Life

Adelaide Wolff Kahn was born on June 10, 1875 in New York to Lydia Cohen and Abraham Wolff, a partner in the banking firm Kuhn, Loeb & Co.

Art Collection

In January 8, 1896, Adelaide married Otto Kahn, a banker. She was largely behind the couple's art collection.[2]

The collection included pieces by Franz Hals, Rembrandt, Lorenzo Lotto, Lorenzo de Credi, Botticelli, Carpaccio, Lucas Cranch, Giovanni Bellini, Mantegna, Sansovino, Andrea Pisano, Gerard David, Martin Schoengauer, Boucher, Nattier, Clouet, Canova, Corot, Gaddi, Canaletto, Gaurdi, Romney and Matisse.[3]
