Black is both a color and scientifically speaking the absence of color.

Black may be also used as a colorist term to describe someone who is African American, or has a darker skin tone. Though a ethnic slur, it is widely accepted by the general community as an acceptable term. In example, "Martin Luther King Jr. is a famous black activist."
