Double Rainbow refers to a viral video posted by Paul “Bear” Vasquez featuring his sighting and reaction to seeing a double rainbow from his front yard just outside Yosemite National Park. While he posted the video himself, the video quickly went viral after comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel linked to the video in a posting on the microblogging web site Twitter; stating that he and a friend had declared it the "funniest video in the world" in a tweet made on July 3, 2010. While Vasquez had only posted the video in January 2010, the video quickly gained over one million views on YouTube after it was posted by Kimmel.[1] A July 16, 2010 feature on the video by CNN.com stated that the video has gained 4.8 million views.[2] Numerous YouTube users have created fan videos using clips of Vasquez's voice from the Double Rainbow video, and it has become a internet meme.[3] The song has been covered by the likes of Amanda Palmer and Jimmy Fallon (as Neil Young),[4] and the video itself was parodied in a scene from an episode of the Cartoon Network original series Adventure Time, as well as in Bill Amend's comic strip FoxTrot.[5]
