Abdullah Gohar is an Egyptian paleontologist,[1] currently pursuing his PhD at the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center (MUVP), Mansoura University, Egypt.[2]
Career
In August 2021, Gohar and his colleagues published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.[3] about a new species of ancient whale named Phiomicetus anubis, which lived about 43 million years ago during the middle Eocene epoch in Egypt. The fossil specimen was discovered in the Fayum Depression, a paleontological hotspot in Egypt.[4]
