Estola albosignata is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1940. It is known from Brazil.[1] In his comprehensive revision of the genus Estola in the neotropical region (Von Breuning, 1940). The beetle is distinguished by its large size, black body, white markings on the thorax and elytra, and black antennae with a slight curve towards the tip.[2]

Taxonomic confusion has arisen regarding E. albosignata. In 1984, Tavakilian and Peñaherrera described a new species, Estola zischkai, based on differences in male genitalia, which they believed to be distinct from E. albosignata (Tavakilian & Peñaherrera, 1984).[3] However, Monné and Giesbert (1994) suggested that E. zischkai was likely a synonym of E. albosignata due to individual variation or misinterpretation.[4]

Martins and Galileo (2007) included E. albosignata in their revision of the subtribe Aerenicini within Cerambycinae, but noted that its taxonomic status and relationships with related species are still uncertain. Thus, Estola albosignata remains an interesting and distinctive beetle species with ongoing taxonomic research and discussion.[5]
