Jennie Feldman is an English writer and translator. She was born in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1952 and grew up in London. She studied French at St Hilda's College, Oxford.
As a producer and presenter of radio documentaries, she was awarded a Gold Medal in the 1990 International Radio Festival of New York for The House on the Hill on the Spafford Children's Centre in Jerusalem.
She has published two poetry collections. The first, The Lost Notebook (2005), was shortlisted for the Glen Dimplex Poetry Award in 2006. The second collection is Swift (2012).[1]
She has published four works of translated French poetry and prose.
She is co-editor and translator, with Stephen Romer, of Into the Deep Street: Seven Modern French Poets, 1938-2008 (2009), which was awarded a special commendation by the judges of the 2011 Popescu European Poetry Translation Prize.
She has published poems, translations, reviews and essays in several journals, including The Times Literary Supplement,[2] and PN Review.[3]
