Marc Lemire (born February 14, 1975) is a Canadian.
Marc Lemire (born February 14, 1975) is a Canadian.

He runs the Toronto-based Freedom-Site (freedomsite.org), a website that hosts controversial far right organizations. According to author Warren Kinsella, Lemire was an admirer of Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel when he was a teenager in the early 1990s (Kinsella, Web of Hate, p. 417).

In 1994, Lemire founded the Canadian Patriots Network , described by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) as an attempt at "bringing racial supremacist groups together into one central location." Lemire started a bulletin board service called Digital Freedom in 1995 . He described the project as "pro-white", and included material from groups such as Stormfront and the National Alliance (Kinsella, Web of Hate, p. 418). CSIS described it as "Canada's largest Holocaust revisionist data archive.

Lemire began the Freedom Site in 1996 , and according to Kinsella, this project eventually became "the largest, and most-read, pro-Nazi web site in Canada" (Kinsella, p. 419) Lemire frequently worked from Zundel's home in Toronto (Kinsella, p. 419). CSIS claims that then-Heritage Front leader Wolfgang Droege was an admirer of Freedom Site, and that Droege and Lemire developed a close relationship.

Lemire ran for the position of school trustee in Toronto Public School Ward P1 in 1998, receiving over 2,500 votes or 12.1% of the vote.
He criticized councillors who supported gay and lesbian studies during his campaign, and opposed the use of public revenues for multiculturalism and aboriginal studies (Kinsella, p. 422).

According to Matthew Lauder, a researcher who infiltrated the far right in Canada, Lemire has been national director of the Heritage Front since January 1, 2001. .

Legal and human rights issues
Justice Pierre Blais' January 21, 2004 ruling on Ernst Zundel's bail application mentioned Lemire's relationship with Zundel. Blais said "Marc Lemire has been and still is very active in Heritage Front, which he now leads", and that "Marc Lemire has in fact received financial assistance from Mr. Zündel, and again, I believe the nature of their relationship is much closer than what Mr. Zündel admits." CSIS described Lemire as being "under the tutelage of Zundel and "anti-immigrant activist, Paul Fromm."

A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal rendered a decision in August 2006, finding that postings by Craig Harrison on the Freedomsite forum contained repeated calls for genocide against Aboriginals, blacks, and Francophones. The tribunal found that these and other postings targeting Jews, non-whites, Italians, and Dutch people violated the Canadian Human Rights Act.

As of 2006, Lemire was the subject of a federal human rights complaint for communicating hate messages with hearings before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal scheduled for February 2007.
