Marion Municipal Airport (IATA: MZZ, ICAO: KMZZ, FAA LID: MZZ) is a city-owned public-use airport located three nautical miles (4 mi, 6 km) southwest of the central business district of Marion, a city in Grant County, Indiana, United States.[1] It is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.[2]

Facilities and aircraft

Marion Municipal Airport covers an area of 506 acres (205 ha) at an elevation of 859 feet (262 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt paved runways: 4/22 is 6,000 by 100 feet (1,829 x 30 m) and 15/33 is 3,596 by 100 feet (1,096 x 30 m).[1]

For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2008, the airport had 17,542 aircraft operations, an average of 48 per day: 92% general aviation, 7% air taxi, and 1% military. At that time there were 52 aircraft based at this airport: 83% single-engine, 6% multi-engine, 4% jet, 4% helicopter, and 4% ultralight.[1]
