Rolf Hendrik Bremmer is a Dutch academic and extraordinary professor of Old English and Old Frisian at Leiden University.

Biography

Bremmer received his master's from the University of Groningen in 1977. In 1986 he gained his Ph.D. from Radboud University Nijmegen.[1]

He taught from 1977 to 1979 at the Gomarus College in Groningen, and at Radboud from 1979 to 1986. Since 1986 he has been with Leiden University. In 1994 Bremmer was Erasmus professor at Harvard. He is a premier Dutch authority on Frisian language and literature, occupying the only professorship in Old Frisian studies in the country.[1][2]
