I am too busy right now to fix this (sorry!) so I'm leaving this note here. The ''Journal of Obadiah Turner'' quoted in this article is a 19th century fabrication. It is found in the book ''Lin, or Jewels of the Third Plantation'' (1880) by James R. Newhall. The section on "Obadiah Turner" and his supposed journal is on pages 51-116. <ref>https://archive.org/details/linorjewelsofthi1880newh</ref> For information about the claim this is not a 17th century journal but fiction, see ''Hearths and Homes of Old Lynn, With Studies in Local History'' by Nathan Mortimer Hawkes (1907), pages 320-321. <ref>https://archive.org/details/hearthshomesofol00hawk_0</ref>

More than just a citation issue

I am too busy right now to fix this (sorry!) so I'm leaving this note here. The Journal of Obadiah Turner quoted in this article is a 19th century fabrication. It is found in the book Lin, or Jewels of the Third Plantation (1880) by James R. Newhall. The section on "Obadiah Turner" and his supposed journal is on pages 51-116. [1] For information about the claim this is not a 17th century journal but fiction, see Hearths and Homes of Old Lynn, With Studies in Local History by Nathan Mortimer Hawkes (1907), pages 320-321.
